We had a great time at Winter NAMM this year, and had the opportunity to show in person some of the exciting new instruments that we have to offer in our 2017 Spring Collection. We put together this recap to show you what we had on display, including a couple of interesting surprises.

The John Petrucci NOMAC Majesty

John Petrucci showed off some of the finer details of the extremely limited edition Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci NOMAC Majesty guitar. Based on the NOMACs (Noise Machines) featured in the Dream Theater album “The Astonishing,” the guitar features real black diamonds, spinel rubies, white gold, LED lights, and many other intricate details.

The John Petrucci Monarchy Majesty Series

Definitely a highlight of our booth this year, the new Monarchy Majesty guitars received quite a bit of attention from those visiting us. Many people were overheard commenting about how great the combination of the gloss top with the matte back feels on the hands while playing.

The John Petrucci JP15 Translucent Teal Burst

Not to be left out of the Petrucci-related excitement, the new JP15 in Translucent Teal Burst with roasted maple neck and fretboard was also a standout for many visitors to the booth. Even this photo doesn’t quite do the gorgeous quilted top justice.

The Steve Lukather Luke III BFR

As if the Luke III weren’t already beautiful enough, the figured Koa top on this limited Ball Family Reserve model is on another level entirely, and is perfectly complemented by the gold hardware.

The 30th Anniversary StingRay 5 Bass

Sterling Ball himself introduced and demoed the new 30th Anniversary model. Not a recreation of the original but a tribute, this model features a stunning roasted maple neck, fretboard and headstock, as well as binding on the fretboard.

The St. Vincent 2017 Signature Collection

St. Vincent herself was in the booth on Thursday, day one of this year’s NAMM Show. She spoke with Sterling Ball about the new finishes available in the 2017 collection, and how each one evokes a different emotional response and playing style for her. Additionally, she and Sterling announced an upcoming St. Vincent medium-scale bass.

The Cutlass Guitar

The Cutlass will be offered in two new finish options, Charcoal Frost and Coral Red, as well as in an HSS configuration. The one and only Rex Brown stopped by the booth and enjoyed some time with the new humbucker-equipped version.

The StingRay Guitar

Like its fellow Modern Classic series guitar, the StingRay will also be available in the new Charcoal Frost and Coral Red finishes.

The StingRay Bass Collection

On the wall at the edge of our booth near the adjacent walkway, the StingRay bass line caught quite a bit of attention from both visitors to our booth as well as passers by. The new finishes available across the range have people very excited, from the Firemist Purple and Firemist Gold finishes with black hardware to the Mint and Butterscotch options available on the Old Smoothie.
